President Barack Obama attended a fundraising event at senior Paras Sharma’s house on Oct. 17. Sharma’s parents are large supporters of the president and the Democratic Party which is why they held the fundraiser at their residence. Senators Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin also attended the fundraiser at Sharma’s house, along with re-elected Congressman Chris Van Hollen. Mikulski gave a speech during the fundraiser encouraging the Democrats to rally and come out to vote in the recent election. Sharma’s parents also support the DSCC (Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee).
